Loch Lomond and the Trossachs

Poetry, lakes and whiskey

The Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park was established in 2002 and is the second largest park in Great Britain. It houses two forest parks and more than fifty natue conservation sites. Its rolling mountains, forests, lochs and rivers create a wild charm.

The park is divided into four parts: Loch Lomond, The Trossachs, Breadalbane and Argyll Forest. The largest lake in Scotland lies in Loch Lomond and is 40 km long with more than 30 islands and charming villages settled on its banks. There are many activities available in the heart of the park. Bike and hiking trails are ideal for families and offer beautiful, wild landscapes. The east bank of the lake is very peaceful and pleasant. The park is also home to 12 whiskey distilleries that offer tastings.
