The Icelandic climate
Discover the best time to explore Iceland depending on the temperatures.
Close to the Arctic Circle, Iceland is a country with an unstable climate. To enjoy a hike in pleasant climatic conditions, prefer the months of mid-May to mid-September. The summer is cloudy but you can still see the legion of migratory birds in the first half of June. If you are an avid downhill skier and ski tourer, February to mid-April is the best time to travel to Iceland.
