Snorkeling and scuba diving are the recommended activities on Green, Lady Musgrave, Lizard, Heron and Lady Elliot Isalnds. Enjoy seeing sting rays, turtles, sharks, beautiful coral and colourful fish.
Some islands have their own speciality. If you're a fan of mountain biking go to South Molle Island in the Whitsundays. Cycle around and enjoy the beautiful scenery and view points, some of which offer a perfect 360° view of the island and surrounding ocean. For bird enthusiasts Michaelmas Cay is the best island to watch the summer bird migrations. These islands are very popular and quite busy. Fitzroy Island is touristy and visited more by locals for its tranquillity.

They are generally appreciated for their beaches, marine life, walking and hiking trails and wonderful scenery.
