Lake Niassa

"Lake Niassa"

Lake Niassa, known today as Lake Malawi, is the third largest lake in Africa. Shared between two countries, the Mozambique shore is more wild than the shore in Malawi. It is an ideal destination for travelers in search of adventure.

There are three towns on the shores of the lake: Cobue, Meponda, and Metangula. On the coast of the lake and especially between Metangula and Cobue, there is beach after beach of sand and pebbles, surrounded by hills.

The inhabitants of this region are known as Nyanja, "the habitants of the lake", and live in typical thatch roofed homes which dot the landscape. Think outside of the box and take advantage of the still preserved and little known biodiversity, and the cultural richness of the region and its inhabitants.

Rent a 4x4 camper in order to freely explore and discover the lucious landscapes still unknown to the tourist masses, and get to know a very welcoming culture.
