Splendid landscapes and ruins
Glenveagh National Park, opened in 1986, is situated in the northwest of the country and contains an incredible natural heritage, as well as important historical relics.
The park is a very wild nature that extends over 10 000 hectares. The main, and best, activity to do is hiking. Many trails of all levels are available through lndscapes of mountains, forests, swamps and moors. There is a famous castle overlooking the park's lake. A guided tour is possible, but you can also stroll through the manicured gardens. Many animals inhabit the area, such as the red deer.

General Info
In Ireland you drive on the left hand side of the road!
'Wild' camping is allowed.
The speed limit of 80km/h is not realistic. Rather count on driving at 60-70 km/h along the narrow roads
We often greet other drivers at the wheel in this courteous country. Celtic tradition?
