Driving at night outside of towns is strongly discouraged.
Between December and April certain roads may be inaccessible due to heavy rains in regions crossed by rivers.
Some roads are poorly maintained. A 4x4 vehicle is recommended and very careful driving is essential.
The mobile phone network is not reliable, so it is recommended to always travel with extra reserves of water, food and fuel, as well as a first aid kit and a spare tire.
